the University of Amsterdam and is organised by the Spanish programme of the University of Amsterdam, the Spanish Embassy, and the Instituto Cervantes in the Netherlands. This year it was also supported by the Mexican Embassy to The Hague as the guest speaker was Elena Poniatowska, the grande dame of Mexican letters. The event took place in the University of Amsterdam’s VOCzaal at its Bushuis premises in the city centre of Amsterdam, and was introduced by Shelley Godsland, Professor of Spanish and Latin American Literature within the Spanish programme at the University of Amsterdam.
