Alianza Editorial has just published J. A. Garrido Ardila’s translation of Vildanden, regarded as Henrik Ibsen’s best play. This volume includes a critical introduction in which Garrido Ardila discusses the place of Vildanden in Ibsen’s works and its reception in Spain, with new data on its bearing on the works of Valle-Inclán and Unamuno.
In 2013 Alianza Editorial published Garrido Ardila’s translation (with K. H. Andersen of the University of Copenhagen) of Ibsen’s Volkefiende, also with a critical introduction. His research on Scandinavian literatures includes publications on Kierkegaard, Ibsen, Hamsun and Strindberg.
