At the recent Simposio Tenerife Noir Professor Shelley Godsland gave a paper that offered an Hegelian reading of gendered revenge in a selection of Spanish crime novels. Professor Godsland’s paper was very well attended and sparked lively debate among attendees. The Conference was the key academic activity within the wider Tenerife Noir festival of crime and detective fiction and was held at the Universidad de La Laguna. The Simposio was the first in what it is hoped will become an annual series.
